Problem
Unlike traditional call center agents, freelance support experts work independently without on-site supervisors or long training programs. They face two major hurdles: navigating complex customer qualification processes on live calls without support, and missing clear pathways to upskill and qualify for higher-paying gig opportunities.
Process
Gig-Worker Journey Mapping: Structured the UI around two core needs: active call execution (handling dynamic questions & qualification) and personal growth (skills, courses, and earnings tracking).
Guided Call Workflows: Designed tabbed workspace views (Call Info, Qualify Customer, FAQ) so freelancers have step-by-step guidance and interactive questionnaires right during live calls.
Integrated Micro-Learning: Built a modular course hub (Skills / NoTime Courses) featuring short, bite-sized assessments that allow agents to unlock new project badges in under 5 minutes.
Solution
Active Call Workspace: Paired a sleek top softphone bar with dynamic customer-qualification checklists to keep call handling effortless and accurate.
Skill Verification & Onboarding: Created an engaging card-based course interface where experts can take quick tests, track completion statuses, and continuously qualify for new skill tiers.
Unified Gig Navigation: Kept navigation minimal with dedicated sidebar tabs for Earnings, Performance, Messages, and Skills—giving freelancers full visibility over their independent career.
Results
Qualification Accuracy: +50% Step-by-step interactive questionnaire tabs ensured freelancers qualified leads correctly on the first call.
Onboarding Time: -65% Bite-sized, 5-minute training modules enabled new freelancers to complete certification and take their first call the same day.
Agent Retention & Engagement: +35% Clear visibility into skills, earnings, and performance metrics boosted platform engagement and expert retention.
